Do the early Christmas Decorations wind you up? John Lewis managed to put there deco’s up 79 days before on the 5th of October!
Many people are seen as stubborn towards Christmas shopping before the month of December and would like the advertising world just to take a step back, and remember what time of the year it is. Others would disagree and love to see the Christmas stands glittering with lights and sparkles. However, big businesses such as John Lewis must be considerate to people who do not celebrate Christmas.
Selfridges opened their Christmas department on the 4th August, 142 days before Santa comes down the chimney. Selfridges is set to sell 46,500 decorations and wreaths, 11,700 wrap and gift tags, 29,000 cards, 4,600 crackers and 650 lights and trees (according to www.dailymail.co.uk). Another big business - Harrods - put their Christmas decorations up at the start of September, many consider it to be absolutely absurd and fail to appreciate the true meaning of Christmas nearly 4 months before the actual date.
In our opinions we think Christmas decorations are put up far too early and that it is completely unnecessary for them to be there in September. Christmas is a special time of year and should just be looked forward to in the month of December, so let’s enjoy Christmas.
