John Lewis have been creating Christmas adverts for many years but in 2011 people started to notice how emotional and creative John Lewis can be. They set the bar high for other businesses and companies to beat.
In 2011, John Lewis made something that blew up over social media, a HASHTAG. #MontyThePenguin.This is what made John Lewis Christmas Adverts blow up. Every year, people are anticipating for the new John Lewis Advert to be released.
However, this year’s advert gained a lot of criticism because it shows the father of the main child building a spanking new trampoline. Many of the parents said that children would be misled into believing that Santa is not real. Therefore, John Lewis came back on this and said that parents also buy gifts as well as Santa. But I believe that it’s normally Santa that brings the big presents. People can come back on what John Lewis said, then the whole company would be in a pickle.
Many adverts battle it out but in the end there is no winner.
